Absolute Beginners Class (2.00 to 3.00 pm):
Do you have two left feet? Have you never danced before? Are you nervous about taking that first step? Then this is the class for you. This Ballroom and Latin American dance class is aimed at dancers who have either never danced before or very little, a great class for a refresher before joining our Improvers Class. We will go at the pace of the class, so no need to worry if you do not quite ‘get the dance’. Classes will run for a period of between 5-8 weeks, concentrating on one dance at a time before moving onto the next dance. Please try to arrive in time for the revision session, (no extra charge) to practice your steps and to socialize with your fellow dancers. In this class we will aim to learn a basic routine in a particular dance. Concentrating on the very basics to enable dancers to feel confident to go out dancing socially, at a wedding or on a cruise ship. Basic technique will be covered, i.e. Footwork (heels and toes), hold, alignments and timing. Once each dance has been completed at this level with confidence, we are able to offer further instruction in the Intermediate/Improvers Class or via a one-to-one lesson if required.
Practise & Social Session (3.00 to 3.30 pm):
These sessions are available to everyone attending during the afternoon and are included in your enrollement fee. We encourage attendance at these sessions to help dancers to feel confident dancing around the floor with other dancers. This is the only way you will learn floorcraft, by taking part and joining in!
