Do you have two left feet? Have you never danced before? Are you nervous about taking that first step? Then this is the class for you. Our ballroom and latin american dance class is aimed at dancers who have either never danced before or danced very little. We will go at the pace of the class, so no need to worry if you do not quite ‘get the dance’. Classes will run for a period of approximately 5 weeks concentrating on one dance at a time before moving onto the next dance. Please try to stay for the practice sessions to practise your steps and to get to know your fellow dancers. In this class we will aim to learn a basic routine in all 10 dances. Concentrating on the very basics to enable dancers to feel confident to go out dancing socially, at a wedding or on a cruise ship. Basic technique will be covered i.e. Footwork (heels and toes), hold, alignments and timing. Once each dance has been completed at this level with confidence we are able to offer further instruction in the Improvers Class or via a one to one lesson if required.
This session will run for approx 15 minutes in between the Beginners and Improvers Class. There are no extra charges for this session and all pupils from both classes are invited to attend. We will revise and work on previous dances taught at Beginner's level.
This class is for dancers who have completed our Beginners Class or have danced a little before. We will be concentrating on improving and adding to all dances taught at beginners level. A good basic knowledge of all 10 dances are necessary for this class as we will be building upon these basics. Technique such as footwork, timing and alignments will be revised and learnt, as well as introducing deeper technique to improve your dancing. If you attend this class please try to come and attend as many social/practise sessions as possible. We do not have any set timetable for this class we work on whatever is needed at the time. We usually work on 2/3 dances during the course of the lesson.
