Do you have two left feet? Have you never danced before? Are you nervous about taking that first step? Then this is the class for you. This ballroom and latin american dance class is aimed at dancers who have either never danced before or very little. We will go at the pace of the class, so no need to worry if you do not quite ‘get the dance’. Classes will run for a period of approximately 8 weeks, with the exception of Social Rhythm this will run for 4 weeks, concentrating on one dance at a time before moving onto the next dance. Please try to stay for the practise session at 9.00 to 9.30 p.m. (no extra charge) to practice your steps and to get to know your fellow dancers. In this class we will aim to learn a basic routine in the Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Social Rhythm, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha and Jive. Concentrating on the very basics to enable dancers to feel confident to go out dancing socially, at a wedding or on a cruise ship. Basic technique will be covered i.e. Footwork (heels and toes), hold, alignments and timing. Once each dance has been completed at this level with confidence we are able to offer further instruction in the Improvers Class or via a one to one lesson if required.
