FAQs

1. What if I miss a lesson?
Don’t worry if you miss a lesson you can either come another evening during the same week or we will do our best to ‘fill you in’ during the practice session at the end of the following or previous week – there is always the option of a private lesson.

2. What is the best thing to wear on my feet?
To start with anything you are comfortable in, all we ask is that you do not wear trainers (unless they are dance trainers) as these do not allow you to move across the floor. If after a couple of months you feel that you would like to continue with your dancing then please invest in a good pair of dance shoes – we have Supadance brochures available on the table if you wish to look at them along with discount cards.

3. Which Class should I attend?
If you have danced before and are not sure which class you should attend then we would ask you to come along at the beginning of the evening so you can see for yourself where you would be most comfortable. There is no extra charge for joining in other classes on the same evening – £7.00 per person covers the whole evening regardless of how many classes are enjoyed.

4. I am interested in taking my dancing a little bit more seriously and may even wish to take exams how do I go about this?

We would have to assess you to see at what stage you are at in your dancing. If we feel that you are at the appropriate standard required we would ask if you would like to attend our Sunday evening sessions (currently £10.00 per person) for further training.

5. I am finding it really hard to ‘get to grips’ with a certain aspect of a dance?
Then please come to see us during the practice session from 9.30 – 10.00 p.m. and we will help you. That is why we are here – please feel free to approach us at any time during this half hour. Please bear in mind that is quite normal to find the first movements in dance quite difficult. It will take several lessons before you will feel comfortable with what you are doing.

6. We really do not like to change partners and would prefer to stay together?
That’s fine, but please bear in mind that by changing partners not only will you get to know fellow pupils, which in time will provide you with a wonderful social life, but you will also learn to dance a lot quicker.
