Adult Beginners Ballroom and Latin American Classes

In these classes you will be taught very simple basic moves, these will then slowly (and we mean slowly as nothing happens overnight and it is quite normal to find your first moves very difficult) develop from simple steps to simple routines. Waltz and Quickstep are taught at a very basic level and, hopefully, learnt from the Ballroom genre, whilst Cha, Cha, Cha, Jive and Rumba are taught from the Latin American genre. We would expect most pupils to stay at this level for at least 2 years before progressing onto our Improvers class ……..

Adult Improvers Ballroom and Latin American Classes

Having spent some time in the Beginners Class learning basic movements, tempo of each dance, floor craft, alignments and directions of dance you will now be in a position to further develop each dance with more difficult steps and more difficult dances. Alongside building on the dances already learnt at Beginners level we will now introduce to you Foxtrot, Samba, Tango and Paso Doble. Remember a good basic knowledge of each dance is necessary to help you take your dancing further. You will never stop training or learning in the field of dance – we recommend that at least 3 years is spent in the improvers class where you will constantly be developing new skills and hopefully in time be ready to progress into to our Advance Class ……..

Advance Ballroom and Latin American Classes

A sound knowledge of all basic figures should be known alongside total understanding of room alignments and technique, as all figures taught are advanced amalgamations of basic work/figures.

Wedding Dances

Want to make that first dance at your wedding something rather special? Then we are able to offer private lessons to enable you to impress your friend and relations. Most couples are quite happy to learn the traditional Waltz for this event but this is totally flexible and can be as adventurous as individuals feel.

Private Lessons

One-to-one private lessons are always of great benefit to everyone. They can be of excellent help and are available hourly at various locations. These lessons are great if you miss a few social lessons enabling you to ‘catch up’ with other pupils or if there is a particular dance you would like to learn. I currently have available lessons during the day on a Thursday please contact me for further information.

Examinations Classes

These classes are for those who would like to take their dancing a little bit more seriously. Pupils do not necessary have to take exams – but exams do give the individual an extreme sense of achievement when they pass.
